Art on Ice

Evgeni was AWSOME at Art on Ice!! The exhibition was held in Switzerland from Feburary 6 - 9. I saw one show on tape. He did three clean quad Toeloops !!! And four tripple Axels !!! But from the beginning: First he skated to his free skate "St. Petersburg 300" with a simple black costume not his usual one. Before the music started someone screamed and he looked back pointed in that direction and smiled, that was cute. He skated that program as it was competition, I never saw him skate that great with such difficult elements at an exhibition. Many say it is very hard jumping with spotlights but this seemed that Evgeni didn't bother that at all. First he did a 3 Toeloop then an awsome 4 Toeloop as it would be nothing! He pumped his fist of joy after that jump. Then 3 Lutz, 3 Axel - 2 Toeloop, 3 Flip, 3 Loop but touched the ice, wonderful Biellman spiral and powerful straightline footwork another 3 Axel but stumbled, semmed as he was powered off at the end. Low sitspin scratch spin. Wild applause! At his second number he skated to live music to the italian singer Zuccero "Baila" and still has simple black clothes on. It was a great number! As he came on ice he greeted Denise Biellmann and kissed her hand. She skated before him. I guess he will skate this progarm just at Art on Ice and nowhere else. He danced with some fancy moves where you can see how much he feels the music. First a double Axel another clean quad Toeloop and the fist pump again. He danced with a red rose in his hand wich he later throwed in the audience. Then 3 Axel - 2 Toeloop and you could hear even in Zucceros voice, he was amazed too. Terrific straight line footwork, we never saw so far, very difficult, just fantastic! ANOTHER 3 Axel (wow) low sit spin, scratch spin and that was the end. Zuccero just could shout "GREAT" and Evgeny skated over to him to shake his hand. Again wild applause. At the closing number he did ANOTHER quad Toeloop!!! (wow!!) Seems like he wanted to show who is the "King on Ice" ;-) Obviously he is in great condition and healthy, then you see his best skating. Evgeny gave everything on that show!
