Grand Prix Final

Report from Lagury, Canada, who was at GPF:
For SP we went to our designated seats and found ourself in a very friendly American Camp (people from tour from US). I started to do some investigation how many Americans like Plush around our seats. Guess what I had a great result out of 7 of 5 went with Plush ( some orderly were saying that Todd would work for them better, ok then ) . You see what was interesting, more Canadian will go with Yags and more American will go with Plush. Plushy had new gorgeous costume, it was very good on him. Me and Susan going like this: " Oh my god he is gold, he is so cute". MJ was very clean, and I liked how he played his role. What an artist. I found something new what I could never noted on TV. PLUSH IS AN ARTIST, like those people in a moves. I will tell you this point a little bit later. He won his short fair. I liked the Americans beside me they gave Plush a standing ovation. It made me happy.
His first LP was flawless, a lots of speed and soft edges. And again he played his role perfect, there was no Plush only persona he played. Good for him!!! This is the second time I noted PLUSH IS AN ARTIST. After he finished his program and send his kisses in a crowd, then I could see our sweet cute real Plush with a big smile .
Saturday practice probably was disaster for Evgeni, everybody were saying that he had injections for his ankle. Plus it was his new program debut. We were getting a lots of autographs from different skaters before men started to practice. Evgeni wear his new costume, it was breathtaking away. Me and Susan go like this: " Oh it is so so good, oh god gorgeous, Maestro, Conductor". He is so slim, and this costume couldn't be any better, so elegant on him. All colors mach perfect, look like some one draw a pic. of it. Just believe me in this costume he is way ahead then the rest of the field. PLUSH IS AN ARTIST. On practice he didn't do any jumps. Yags left right after his music was done he was the first one. And he was quite rude to all little girls who wanted his autograph, I wanted one too. I couldn't believe that Alexei will do so . My daughter is upset now, that Alexei didn't sign. When Plushy's music started all arena went quiet, Tood moved close to boards and then left. So Plush was by himself he didn't skate whole program, just one line of footwork and got a lot of applauses. No jumps. After practice, guess what, he went to sign. He sign for me four times, I told him that I wish him good luck, he was so sweet. All little girls went nuts, when he gave them a stack of his pic. at least 100. What a sweet Plushy. Maestro left.
Second LP was clean except one turn on first quad, but nothing to worry about, he added 3/2. His technical marks were strong. On presentation they hold him back, to bad they mislead Yags. at this point. Today I watched this program on tape, o god half is missing. Like when he does footwork they show us his back, or when he does interesting moves with arms, they show back again, and costume loosing colors and details on TV. Plushy played his role excellent I didn't see real Plush, there was an actor. I am glad he went this way. Mishin said this program about pages from Actor's live. Plush has an excellent ballet style choreography combine with histrionics that gives him unique style . And I really think Evgeni way ahead with his choreography then Yags.
One of a reason most Russians prefer Plush over Yags, because what Tarasova does is good only for dance teams and simple show programs, she likes drama. I feel sorry for Alexei when he is fighting in his both LP with someone and then with himself, his shoulders always down, then he is fighting for every jump, and you can see how happy he is when he lands them. I don't call it artistry it is fight. Plush is opposite all jumps belong to choreography, he is not making happy faces when he land his jumps he is an actor, just playing his role for audience, and at GPF he was as good as he is. That's why Yags fans went nuts, trying to take it on Plushy, because in Kitchener it was obvious who won second LP. When Plush finish his program I saw people running to Mishin and give him handshakes, and standing ovation for Plush was long and strong, including all our American buddies. When results came on a screen Yags fans got a glory. Alexei was crying, when he lost to Plushy last year, and now he is crying again. What is wrong with him? I can't imagine Todd crying in front of a camera for his fourth place, I really would love to see him third.
Plushy skated his Sex Bomb for an exhibition, me and Susan just love it. Plushy was in front of us crawling on ice. He has very good sportsmanship attitude, even with injury he skated whole exhibition number. Maestro Plush has a big future ahead of him. I think I made a right choice.
This is all what I experienced in Kitchener . It is only what I think . Photo © by Manaaw
